How to Find a Date for Valentine’s Day

It’s a few days until the official day of love, and you haven’t found a date yet! Did you know that most single women are likely to spend Valentine’s Day alone at home if they haven’t found a date at least a couple days prior to “The Day?” Well, don’t fret if your calendar’s still empty for the 14th; here are some great tips to help you land that date for Valentine’s

Go to a Singles Event

In every city, there are tons of places where singles hang out, trying to ‘hook up’ with someone they vibe well with. Why not go to one of these places and see if you find someone you’d like to spend Valentine’s with. It might seem like a long shot, but remember that singles hangouts are ideal for “browsing around” for the right person. Who knows, you might even hit the jackpot!

Go to an Online Dating Site

Though a lot of people are skeptical about online dating portals, there are tons of opportunities to meet great people if you know how to navigate around all the garbage that you typically find. Go to a well-known dating site and spend some money for a premium account that offers a profile-matching service. It makes your task a whole lot easier, and you may not have to spend Valentine’s Day alone with a bowl of Rocky Road and a DVD of Sleepless in Seattle!

Ask a Friend

If you have some good friends in the city – couples, even – then ask them if they know any singles who they think might like to meet you. You don’t have to sound desperate, but just let them know how hard it is to meet the right person. They just might know someone who might be right for you. You’ll never be able to answer the question ‘how can I find true love’ if you don’t try every method possible.

Hit the Gym

A gym is as good a place as any to find the man of your dreams. However, you need to know the best times – ideally, just before work in the morning or after work in the afternoons is when the hard-working, hard-living singles tend to go to the gym. That’s when you need to be around so you can meet someone at the water fountain or wherever.

Make new Friends at Work

You can even hang around with a new circle of friends at work so you get to meet some new people every once in a while. If there’s a party going on with lots of singles, you want to make sure you’re invited! Constantly meeting new people is a great way to find someone to hook up with, and who knows, you might even end up finding a soulmate when the time is right.

The point is, you never know where you’re going to meet Mr. Right, so just give yourself the best chance possible and explore all avenues available to you. He may not fall from the heavens right into your lap, but you just may bump into him around that next corner.
